A proof of concept shot on a $2,450 budget in the middle of Florida. 1990s Noir brought to life with a small crew, an old car from Marketplace, and two relentless nights of filming.
Fables River was born from a simple idea: what if we made something that looked and felt nothing like what our budget should allow? With $2,450, a small crew, and two nights in central Florida, we set out to shoot a proof of concept for what we envision as a feature-length 1990s noir thriller.
We found an old car on Facebook Marketplace, dressed our locations with what we had, and leaned into the atmosphere that central Florida naturally provides at night. The result was something raw and cinematic, a testament to what can be done with resourcefulness and relentless drive.
At an estimated 170 minutes for the full feature, Fables River represents our most expansive story yet. The proof of concept captures the tone, the world, and the tension we want to sustain across the entire film.
